Even if you aren’t already experiencing issues with your security camera system, there may still be problems that you can’t see yet. Windows 10 announced they will not be supporting Internet Explorer (IE), and while this may not seem relevant to your security cameras, it actually has a major impact on them.
Certain security cameras operate on Windows, so these changes also affect them. You might not be able to access your camera feed once this transition is complete. It could also create an opening for hacking, which happens when a system does not get updated. Even if you aren’t experiencing any issues, it’s a good idea to make sure your system is updated so you can be sure everything is secure.
So how do you go about fixing or preventing these issues? All you have to do is contact your experts here at J & J. We have a couple of solutions to fix the issue.
First, there is a workaround so you can view your camera feeds. The issue with this tactic is your systems will still be vulnerable to hacking. We don’t know how long the workaround will work, so it is not the option we would advise.
The second solution is updating the firmware or system. However, this won’t work for all cameras. Many systems that are more than 5 years old will not have any new firmware to update to.
This leads to the third solution, which is mainly for the older systems. With older systems, you might need to have it replaced. There may be no way to update it.
